Which kind of workspace do you need?

"Workspace" means one of three jobs. Most people need two of them.

1. Separate identities: client A's analytics login must not collide with client B's. Only profiles (or separate browsers) do this.
2. Live project windows: project A's 15 tabs stay current while you work on B. Edge Workspaces, Workona and tab groups do this.
3. Clean starting sets: the same 5 pages plus a pending note every Monday. Saved collections (SuperCommands, Toby, bookmark folders) do this.

Each workspace opens as its own named, colored window and keeps its tabs. Per Microsoft, open the Search tabs icon, then Manage workspaces, then Create workspace with X tabs.

Best for: different accounts per client or job.

Chrome has no Workspaces button; profiles are the closest built-in answer. Each has its own bookmarks, history, passwords and logins (Google help).

• Create one from the profile icon, then Add Chrome profile; it opens in its own colored window.
• Weakness: separate extensions per profile, and you cannot drag tabs between them.
• Price: free.

Chrome saved tab groups

Best for: a handful of projects with zero setup.

Right-click a tab, choose Add tab to group, then New group. Per Google, a closed group is saved in the bookmarks bar or under More, then Tab groups.

• Syncs to other devices when tabs and history sync is on.

Workona

Best for: many shifting projects, or a team sharing resources.

How to set up a project workspace in SuperCommands

Example: a hiring manager with one open engineering role.

1. In the home screen sidebar, click + under Workspaces and name it Hiring.
2. Open the ATS pipeline, LinkedIn search, interview calendar and scorecard. Press Alt + S, type c link, choose Current Tabs and save as hiring daily.
3. In Properties, add the text shortcut hiring and a hotkey such as Alt + 2.
4. Add a note, hiring status, and a to-do for Friday 4pm, "Send weekly pipeline update"; it fires a notification then.
