App Settings

Choose the cmdOS data layout, initial search behavior, and Todo workspace presentation.

#1

Configure the main cmdOS experience

The Settings screen controls the Home Screen data layout, how search opens, and how the Todo workspace is presented. Each preference is stored by the extension and applied again when cmdOS is reopened.

Layout

Choose whether supported Home Screen data is shown as a visual Board or a spreadsheet-style Table.

Search preference

Choose whether clicking the search field starts with command-first results or normal search results.

Todo workspace mode

Choose whether Todos stay open, show a compact task summary, or remain closable.

#2

Choose Board or Table layout

Select the presentation that makes saved cmdOS data easiest to scan and manage.

1Open Settings

Open the cmdOS Settings surface and select Settings under UX Appearance.

2Select a layout

Choose Board or Table. The selected card receives the active indicator.

3Return to the Home Screen

cmdOS stores the layout choice and broadcasts the change to the current interface.

Board

Uses the visual board-style presentation for supported Home Screen data.

Table

Uses a spreadsheet-style presentation designed for denser rows and columns.

Preview

Hovering a layout option shows a larger preview before the setting is selected.

#3

Choose how search opens

Command-first search changes the initial result emphasis when the search field is clicked.

Enabled

Clicking search opens command-first results so command choices can be narrowed immediately.

Disabled

Search opens with the normal result behavior instead of prioritizing commands first.

What does not change

This preference changes the initial search view; it does not remove saved data or registered commands.

#4

Set the Todo workspace mode

The selected mode controls how persistently the Todo area remains visible.

Pin

Keeps the Todo list permanently open and fully visible.

Pin Summary

Shows a compact summary widget containing the task count.

Always close

Allows the Todo list to collapse and remain closed until the user opens it again.
